Be Still ...

I was just alerted to this blog post (http://laurelmasse.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/01/be-still-and-know.html) by Laurel Massé. She is a fabulous singer, one of the founding members of The Manhattan Transfer. Anyway, maybe Rick Warren has the sensibilities of some folks pegged right, but I'm with Massé ... and long for appropriate silence in worship. Awe, mystery, contemplation -- these are such precious and rare commodities in today's culture; and it's silence that gives these things space to be.
